Board Guidelines
Welcome to The Bonsai Site Forums.
Please take note that when addressing a question to the forum you should include things such as your type of tree; where in the world you live; type of soil; watering schedule; the light the tree receives; whether the plant is indoors or outdoors; fertilizer amounts and frequency; any sign of pests and signs of growth. This is to make life easier for the people answering your question and so they can answer your question more accurately.
An appropriate subject for your post is always good too. A post titled 'please help' will not be as much help as a post titled 'how do I water my juniper?' for example.
Do you know your bonsai zone? This information might also be important. To find your zone, go here.
Also, please try to write your question in legible English. If people have to decipher your question before they answer it, they just might end up not answering it at all!
Beginners will also find that reading answers to other questions can answer their own question.
Have a look at this thread: 'Is my bonsai dying?'
Above all, please remember to be courteous and polite when asking questions - otherwise they may not get answered.

Common FAQ:
Question: How do I post? I've signed up but I keep getting messages telling me there is a permissions error.
Answer: If this is the case you have signed up, but you are not validated. To fully sign up you will have to click on the validation link sent to your sign-up email address. You should have been sent it within 10 minutes of signing up. Once this is done, you should be free to post. Just click one of the top right buttons such as 'Add Reply' or 'New Post' and you're away!
Question: How do I post pictures? I keep getting told that I can't upload a file of this size or type.
Answer: To upload pictures to The Bonsai Site Forums, they must have .gif, .jpg, or .bmp extensions and must be 120kb or less in size. This is to ensure that people aren't uploading ridiculously big files and disadvantaging those with 56kb modems.
Currently if you upload a picture and then click 'preview this post' the picture will be lost. This is something we are hoping to rectify soon.
Question: How do I add in a picture that's currently featured on my own website?
Answer: To do this, just click on the 'IMG' button on top of the text box when you are writing a message and either type in or paste the address of the picture in question.
In your message the image will appear as follows:
Please note - do not attach or use pictures that are not your own if you do not have express permission of the owner. This is a breach of copyright laws and will not be tolerated.
If you need to post a picture that is not your own, please provide details of the website it came from along with the author's details (if available).
Thanks for reading and enjoy your time at The Bonsai Site Forums.
