We have been unable to reach the person originally running this contest. We do not know if he was going to seek additional prizes. Only a first prize was mentioned in the official rules.
The first place winner to be determine by our guest judge Jim Gemel will win the $100 gift voucher from Dallas Bonsai. We have confirmed the availability of that prize with them.
He will also name 2nd, 3rd, honorable mention, and forum members will vote for a "people's choice" award. These winners will have the honor of placing but there will not be any prizes.
Hopefully the people's choice ballot will be available later this evening or tomorrow morning. We encourage you to look over the entries and vote.

Joe, if I read correctly further down in this section of the forum, Vic does have a custom pot available as a prize. It's a forest pot. So perhaps that should be first place in People's choice or one of the other prize slots?

I have confirmed with Vic at Erin Pottery that he will donate a slab pot to the forum. This will be the prize for the
People's Choice winner, so vote today!

yes, I apologise for the mix up with prizes for the contest, as cbobgo has fallen out of contact. He did have them sorted, however did not tell me many details.
I will do my best to arrange some consolation prizes for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed winners.

Look on the bright side, you may have inadvertently killed your bonsai - but at least you now have a nice pot for your next project...

Not hardly, that was over two years ago. Typically we won't go over about a year on contests.
You will have to keep an eye on the "Bonsai Site Competitions" section to stay up-to-date on what we have going on.
