Looking for anyone in Denver. Not someone with a real greenhouse and great conditions but someone who has to deal with our buggered climate.
Jeff
I live in a Denver suburb... Mostly I am trying to kill some Ficuses (Fici?) indoors and some J.procumbens outside. My buddy just gave me some Zelkovia and more fici. The outdoors is too blowtorch sunny and dry as a desert and indoors is air conditioned into oblivion. Maybe see how folks are working it in Phoenix or Alburquerque or something?

yeah i'm in denver too, near wash park. it's only my second summer here and the first with any trees outside. i'm all tropical. lots of ficus, a chinese elm, bouganvilla, brush cherries etc. but i have them on my covered back porch they get a lot of indirect light and some afternoon sun. happy as heck so far. only been a couple weeks but great growth. they're all in training pots this year too so watering is only every other day right now.

All right go Rockies
Hey all im in the "DTC" area. New to Bonsai growing, but loving every minute of it so far. Im growing at the moment a Ficus, Dwarf Chineese Elm and Dwarf japaneese Juniper. So far everything is living. Live in an apartment at the moment as well, facing south. My patio gets 1/2 sun, so I position my 3 trees just in the shade of the light, so I believe im gettin indierct sunlight. Like I said im new to Bonsai so I hope this is adequate enough light.

Im in Aurora living in an apt that the deck faces west. i currently have two junipers, and i want to get more...but that said i have killed two in the past, but that was in Kansas and i had poor instructions on care and was miss lead that junipers can live indoors, ha yeah maybe for a day. any way so im holding off on getting more. so yeah there you go. im still new at it, been trying for two years, but now i want to get serious and really start learning. now that said trying to grow them on an apartment deck that faces west, yeah maybe wont work, not sure if they are getting enough sun light. but hey worth a try right?

Hola folks...
I live in Denver as well. I have a few ficus, a temple jade, sago palm, a couple juniper and a few lucky bamboo to satisfy my significant others interests. I'm getting some more starter trees soon and we'll see how they do. Since I live in an apartment I'm trying to stick with indoor trees because I'm concerned outdoor trees won't be able to make it through the winter. I created dormacy for by Juniper and kept them cool over the winter and the just started to bud again with the warm weather. I've been thinking about checking out the Rocky Mountain Bonsai Society, but have recently been to busy. I'm pretty new to this also so I've read a ton of books and really have been experimenting over th past year. Fortunately I've only killed one Jade which dried out on me.
