My precumbens Nana is losing the brightness in color. I am sure its just because of winter, but I just want to make sure. My other Juniper is still a darker green and neither are turning yellow or becoming brittle so I believe its just a part of the natural process in preperation for winter, but I have not experienced this before. My last Juniper croaked before I could make it to winter.

This is natural right?

Many junipers change color in the cold months. As long as it doesn't get to feel brittrle, there nothing to worry about.

If it feels or becomes brittle, what does that mean?

It means that foliage, branch, maybe tree (depending on the spread) is toast. In other words, it usually means you're watering too often (the overwhelming reason junipers die at home).

Check it for spider mite also, as this has happened to me, before with my junipers. One got a bad infestation and I only found out when I noticed it was getting alot lighter in colour.
